By Sedef Kokcuoglu

Coco Klik's retro Fall 2004 collection rehashed vintage sensibilities without exploiting clichŽs. Inspired by ideas such as surrealism, psychology, war time restrictions, South America, 'We can do it' gals and a desire for opulence that permeated the air during the 40's, Coco created a chic

look characterized by luxurious fabrics and expert craftsmanship. Colorful striped Montevideo blazers, lithe Santiago dresses and prim society Gauchos formed the backbone of this collection that explored the striking styles of the by-gone years, while maintaining a modern edge. Coco Kliks' snug little jackets with exaggerated shoulders, wide legged cuffed culottes, and sailor pants complete with huge buttons capture a nostalgic romanticism, just right for the urban woman. Clad in a pair of playgirl trousers and a pink ego top, a femme can display an appreciation for timeless elegance sans thrift store stuffiness.
