Forties inspired fur pieces, coupled with a pair of retro long gloves, are a stylish way to keep warm in the snow. Blue fox jackets, white fringed mink capes and gold sable stoles infused with a nostalgic romanticism are inconspicuously chic.

Skin looses moisture and elasticity when exposed to wind and extremely cold temperatures. Thus in mountain weather your hands will chap, crack, and flake all over your clothes. In order to keep dull, dry, and dehydrated hands at bay; apply a generous amount of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream and keep your hands warm and insulated in a muff or a pair of gloves.

Every fashionista en route to the slopes must have a lavish fur coat to sip hot cocoa in. A luxuriously opulent fur coat eliminates the necessity to wear layer upon layer to keep warm. Why look like a shapeless zeppelin lost under debris of fabrics when you can be a sleek fox enveloped in fur? 'Fur'thermore fur (faux or real depending on your convictions) is one of the few bold stylistic statements that actually has utility.

Night life in skiing capitals like Aspen, Gstaad, St. Moritz, and Courchevel is just as exhilarating and modish as the days spent on the slopes. Once the sun sets over the snow-capped mountains, jet setters slip into their evening gowns and stilettos.

Fashionlines Tips:

1-In order to prevent frost bite in a silk charmeuse dress and strappy heels, keep to the confines of your hotel resort.

2-Throw a fur wrap or bolero over your outfit just for effect.

3-Always make a dinner reservation (especially during the alta season) in advance.

4-After a culinary feast, complete with a bottle of red wine, the most excellent way to meet people is to sip on a glass of cognac by the wood fire, looking fabulous.

5-Don’t drink too much. It is much easier to get intoxicated in high altitudes.

It is imperative that you keep your feet insulated, dry, and warm in the harsh cold. Otherwise, you will loose valuable body heat or in extreme circumstances put yourself at risk of permanent vascular and nerve damage. A great way to keep your perfectly pedicured toes toasty is to wear silk stockings underneath a pair of wool socks. The air trapped under the multiple layers will barrier the cold effectively.

Fashionlines Tip: Go wild with colors! Try electric blue, shocking fuchsia, or zesty orange.

The must have accessory of the snowbunny is the hat. There are thousands of blood vessels in the head, which run just under the skin and radiate a tremendous amount of heat to the atmosphere. Seriously, after a few days in the freezing cold, you too will agree that accessorizing never felt so good.

Fashionlines Tips:

1- Remember that keeping your head warm means keeping the rest of your body warm.

2-In order to prevent the unsightly occurrence of the “helmet head” syndrome, refrain from putting styling products (mousse included) in your hair. Otherwise, aided by the warm air in the hat, your hair will mold into a frightening shape.

3-Every other night, sitting in a hot bubble bath, apply Alberto V05 Hot Oil Hair Treatment Moisturizing Formula with Vitamin E to your hair and scalp. This treatment will condition your hair, while revitalizing your dry and itchy scalp.

Covering the mouth with a scarf is a great way to recycle body heat and moisture, while adding color and texture to your look.

With the right wardrobe the ferocious go-getter of the urban jungle can easily transform into a couture snowbunny. Perhaps playing dress up for a lifetime is fashion’s main appeal to women, who are eternally little girls at heart. So grab your Chanel snow board and put on your fur lined Dior Moon-Boots Cinderella, for it is time to play Snow Queen.
