PARIS, September 1 - Just as the first chill of autumn has come to town,
change has proven itself always in fashion. The Hong Kong-based YGM
Trading Limited, which bought Guy Laroche for 17 million Euros on June 25, has
announced plans for a new headquarters and has appointed a new Artistic
Director. The House just acquired a building at 35 rue François
1er, where the management, the design studio and the men's and women's
boutiques will be located. Hervé L. Leroux, who was previously
assistant to Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi and Chanel, has been named as Artistic
        Director.

    | Hedi Slimane has been busy over the
        summer. He's set to début
his first ever furniture designs - a project with Comme des Garçons
      - which features geometrically inspired chairs. His work is scheduled to
be shown in London on September 10, and then he's
off to Paris to unveil photography at a vernissage at the Galerie Almine
      Rech on September 11.
An astute Parisian might have recently glimpsed
a fashion icon walking slowly, though ever stylishly, about town. Yves
Saint Laurent has recently appeared at the John Lobb boutique on Boulevard
Saint Germain in search of new footwear. Either driven in a Mercedes
limousine, or else sharing the tiny front seat of Pierre
Bergé's Smart Car, he's lost none
of his good taste. Leaning on Bergé, his left arm loosely falling
by his side, his increasing fragility is eclipsed
by his inherent elegance and grace.
