Alexandra Gaita never fails to amaze us with her insightful and penetrating portraits of Paris' fashion cognoscenti.

Amartya Sen at the Commonwealth Club

Harvard Economist and Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen will speak at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 12 noon and at 6 pm. Professor Sen argues that the current conflict in the US and nations in the Middle East are tied to a breakdown in the bonds of identity, and that confusion, not hatred is the reason for the bitter standoff. For more information, please call the Commonwealth Club at (415) 597-6700 or check their website www.commonwealthclub.org.
