It's called Starlite CL and it's an innovative and dynamic looking chaise lounge that embodies high design and high tech content, the fundamental values of Alcantara S.p.A. Designed by the architect Simone Micheli in collaboration with the Trend & Design department of Alcantara S.p.A, this new chaise lounge will be launched during the Milan furniture show (9th to 14th April 2003, in the "Galleria Bonaparte," via Pontaccio).

Drawing inspiration from the boldly sinuous and aggressively potent forms of the Ducati Monster, Starlite CL has a gritty design that even at first glance transmits the speed-induced shiver you feel when you mount a Ducati bike. But you need only look again to appreciate all the attributes typical of Alcantara® - strength, luxury and a beautifully soft touch.

Starlite CL is a true rarity in the world of furniture, due to both its original forms and the quality of the material covering it - Starlite, by Alcantara S.p.A. And the colours too recall those of Italy's most famous motorbike - the classic red and black and the silver colour of aluminium.

Simone Micheli, the architect who conceived the project, describes it like this: "The Starlite CL chaise lounge is the fruit of deep reflections on the world of Ducati motorbikes - power, speed, dynamism, technology, precision and innovation. My idea was to create an intriguingly sensual body, soft, completely covered with Alcantara®, a creation that would be a dual manifesto."
