Sonia Rykiel

PARIS, October 6, 2006 - To the soundtrack of "Histoire d'Amour", Sonia Rykiel sent out a light, playful collection for spring. Super feminine, rive gauche Bohemian, coquettish to the core, Rykiel's clothes are Paris at its finest. Program notes spoke of "a real woman, and not her shadow in total symbiosis with her Creator", but any sort of sacred reading of the pieces ended there. What passed down the catwalk were shapely striped dresses tied up with bows, a cleanly cut simple white cape, dusty rose chiffon pieces with their scallops meticulously worked out, a coat of fluffy plumes. For evening, silver lamé was de rigeur, but even that was blushing with pink chiffon. The finale of multi-colored solid stretch dresses imprinted with various facial expressions came off as one final tease. < more shows
