Just as the fashion heard catches up to her, Prada the fashion poet moves forward in strides. Taking only flux as a given, the designer with a penchant for smart dressing creates clothes meant to be worn by real people. Though many may think her bare-legged Spring show was way too “abbreviated”, Miuccia clarified after the fact that that she was just showing tops. Cast in jewel like hues such as ruby and sapphire these satin tunics and shirts are the antithesis to the voluminous Marie Antoinette inspired direction everyone else seems to be taking. But that is the beauty of Prada. She is never dull, unimaginative and self-referential.
