Marni

Long before experimentation with volume gained inertia Consuelo
Castiglioni’s egg shapes, curvilinear cuts, and scalloped hems reworked the
feminine silhouette. Today staying true to her ingenious formula the designer
continues to sculpt fabric with seamless results. Her trademark duster coats,
dropped shoulder jackets, and eccentric sweaters constitute the core
collection, as Marni is more about building a distinct look over the years
than trying to reinvent the wheel every season. But, to add a little
contemporary pizzazz to her look Consuelo also mixed in leggings, wood-block
clogs, and chunky belts to her Spring 2007 mix. The result is a thoroughly
wearable lineup of intelligent clothes.
