Roberto Cavalli

The master of theatrical silhouettes and operatic colors has set sail for subtler destinations. Cavalli’s spring collection is significantly more ladylike, pared down and minimalist than his trademark ostrich feather, Swarovski crystal and embroidery embellished lineups. Structured toreador jackets, wide legged trousers and crisp white shirts paired with flats (virtually unheard of on a R.C. runway) herald a significant shift in the designer’s traditionally extravagant sensibilities. Roberto’s new and improved bella donne have a penchant for masculinity and understated elegance. Bold and empowered they exude unmistakable confidence and irresistible magnetism.
