Akris
PARIS, October 4, 2006 - Akris is an up-and-coming label headed up by Swiss
designer Albert Kriemler, and it sells like hot cakes. From the show staged
on Wednesday in the Louvre it's easy to see why. Program notes told the
story: "This collection is all about transparency," wrote Kriemler. "What you
see. Or don't see. Body conscious, feminine, but in new proportions and
unexpected volumes."
Cut away tops, clean sheer touches, even vests of netting gave the clothes a
legerity that seemed as breezy as a summer afternoon. White and nude tulle
was spruced up with teal satin, flushes of crimson and even a scarlet leather
top.
This collection had a youthfulness about it - a freshness that was totally
natural.
