Recycle Couture

Animated by a desire to preserve the environment while creating unique garments, Gaelyn and Cianfarani push the boundaries of fabric and form. Using recycled bicycle tubes to construct a distinctive style, these inventive designers create harmonies out of the most unlikely combinations. Juxtaposing natural fabrics like jersey, silk, wool, and cotton against plastic and latex, Gaelyn and Cianfarani confirm that all is fair in war and fashion. Layering garment upon garment, this line achieves the unlikely effect of permitting each piece to make a statement of its own. From the overwhelming chaos of cropped sweaters, latex movie gowns, wrap multi-pleat dresses and prayer shawls that clutter the topography of this line, an unusually personal look emerges.
