Christopher Bailey’s spring line for Burberry Prorsum consists of chic British retro fashion sans outdated vintage stuffiness. The gifted designer’s inventive reinterpretations of old classics like empire waist dresses, pea coats, trenches, and a-line skirts are tinged with a royal sensibility. Topped off by knit barrettes, silk satin belts, large status bags, and sky high patent platforms; these inspired creations (just right for young aristocrats with a penchant for classy elegance) make a graceful stylistic statement.

Describing his spring collection Bailey said, “I wanted to be a bit more refined and grown up,” and added, “So I imagined a young English girl dressing as if she was an old fashion deb.” Indeed his ladylike pieces like A-line duster coats, cap sleeve peter-pan collar dresses—belted below the bosom and embellished with mini pearl buttons, gold brocade egg shaped skirts, cashmere cardigans, and petal collar wrap around dresses exude a classy sensibility underscored by a dash of youthful exuberance.
