Franco’s source of inspiration for Spring 2006 was Fellini’s cinematic masterpieces, Italian starlets like Sophia Loren, and the spellbinding landscape of Northern Italy. Undeniably, the designer’s creations had a smoldering Mediterranean quintessence.

This season Anthony Franco’s new collection had a little something for everyone. A striking black floor-length chiffon flamenco gown was just right for a sexy Sicilian woman, widowed at an early age. For the exuberantly youthful Roman girls, there was a rigorously tailored jacket embellished with beads and a pink poufy skirt matched with a delicate lace blouse. Finally, the Florentine art enthusiasts got a bold crimson and white floral print empire waist dress.

In the end, all Anthony Franco women were delighted with the beautiful clothes and were ready to enjoy a café macchiato accompanied by a sinfully sumptuous slice of tiramisu. Who says you cannot be chic and eat your cake too?
