PARIS, January 28, 2006 - Gieves and Hawkes, one of Britain's most respected menswear labels now under the artistic direction of Joe Casely-Hayford, presented its first Paris show on Saturday at Cité Université.

The boys emerged from behind a glowing crystal chandelier decked out in the Boy Byron collection: Duke of Windsor tweeds, pinstripes and knit sweaters worn with silver-threaded scarves twirled around the neck.

A knit vest was worn over a sports jacket and immaculately tailored suits magically transformed the models into young princes. One military-style overcoat gave a nod towards the heritage of the company.

The color spectrum was grounded in charcoal and royal blue with occasional flourishes of mauve and lavender.

The Gieves collection was understated but luxurious, a must for the wardrobe of the globally stylish gentleman.
