Junko Shimada's long show on Saturday morning went the gamut, incorporating no end of variety in design and style. The problem with that approach is that the collection appeared to lack any particular theme: there were strapless dress, spaghetti strap dresses, dresses with exaggerated shoulders, dresses that incorporated an overlay of tulle, dresses in which black piping outlined bow ties over the breast, and dresses blossoming in vibrant plaids. It was not until the finale that a set of Picasso-esque prints, and three pleated chiffon evening pieces in turquoise, melon and black finally caught the attention. In this case, less would have been more.
