She is a Lady

Two years ago, a fun mélange of fluid asymmetrical cashmere-blend pieces, cast in sorbet colors, put Pegah Anvarian on the fashion map. Positively exuberant and definitely unique, Pegah’s convertible ponchos, gold-ring dresses, and sarong skirts hit the right note with discerning fashionistas, as well as Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz. However, every industry insider knows full well that to survive in the retail world means to evolve while maintaining a distinctive style. In keeping with this fashion tenent, this season Ms. Anvarian diverged from her trademark style and adopted a more demure attitude, defined by prim & proper elegance. This imaginative designer’s sophisticated molding of herringbone and houndstooth wools into graceful constructions, distinguished by rigorous tailoring and architectural details evidence Pegah’s exploration of new possibilities. Anvarian’s structured autumnal clothes in heavy fabrics, inspired by winter in New York, reflect a maturity that is beyond LA’s staple ‘jeans and jersey’ look.
