The fashion crowd always seems to be running out of steam by the time Paris fashion week heats up. After all, many of the crew of buyers and editors has been running nonstop from New York, to London, to Milan, and now to the queen of them all, Paris. But leave it to the French to lend a helping hand. In the press room of the Carrousel du Louvre, Cointreau (Inc.) has set up a Metropolitan Bar, where cocktails flow from the crack of noon until closing time. With the fashion flock in need of near constant lubrication, and with a beautiful young man provided to pour the cocktails, the bar has become the hot spot of the Paris shows. The lines form early and dissipate late in the afternoon, only after the Cointreau Boy starts to put away cases upon cases of empty bottles. Well by that time, it’s five o’clock somewhere in the world and time to head au bar.
