Turquoise Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile
Clutch, about $1,750.00, available at
Bergdorf Goodman, NYC.
Every season, so many “It Bags” are introduced, making it a difficult task to choose the right bag for the season. For spring 2007, Handbag designer Nancy Gonzalez is making the choice of bag easy. On February 15, 2007, I met Nancy Gonzalez at Bergdorf Goodman in New York, where she held a trunk show of her spring 2007 collection. I asked Nancy what was the inspiration for her handbags, her response,”Life”. Simple little things that give us joy daily, for instance, a sunny spring day, were the story for Nancy Gonzalez’s lineup of shoulder bags, satchels and clutches. It was evident at first sight; every bag was an eruption of joy. Vivid colors or lime green, canary yellow, orangey reds, and iridescent ocean blues graced the surfaces of exotic skins. Nancy Gonzalez, born in Columbia, added cultural influences, native to her country, to these elegant bags. She executed the collection beautifully, and used the finest craftsmanship to construct a bag that has a longer shelf-life than the seasonal “It Bag”. Nancy Gonzalez has created handbags for those ladies who want luxury, great craftsmanship, beauty, and above all, a little something to make them feel happy.
