For Fall 2005 Bora Aksu reinvents Little Red Riding Hood. Still larger than life, she captures the imagination with a sculpture-like silhouette. Further, as opposed her trademark crimson cape she travels through the forest in captivating asymmetrical chiffon dresses distinct with sinuous hemlines.

Bora Aksu’s positively sophisticated; undeniably imaginative creations are cast in reserved grays, plums and browns with refreshing splashes of tangerine, lime and burgundy. Layering is the key to the supple appearance of the clothes. Hand crocheted sweaters and cardigans add a little spice to the mix. While certain pieces give the feeling of a slow and prolonged ‘disintegration’ as if the fabrics are leisurely unraveling, the overall feeling surrounding the collection is one of solidarity.

The most original pieces of Aksu’s repertoire come in the form of garbs merged with wood carvings. Blurring the line between tailoring and carpentry these constructions prove that the borders between different forms of art are rather fluid.
