Rachel Pally is an irresistibly cute young woman whom I had the pleasure of meeting while waiting for Petro Zillia's Spring 2004 show to commence. She stood apart from the crowd by her infectious smile and relaxed, nonchalant attitude. At the time Rachel was sporting one of her ultra

comfortable, form-fitting, stretchy numbers that conform to varying body types and flatter female figures of all shapes and sizes. After I complimented her outfit, the bubbly designer and I had a great conversation about the world of fashion and LA style.

Needless to say, running into Miss Pally six months later before the naissance of her runway debut was a welcome surprise. When implored about her creations this familiar face told Fashionlines "my new collection is a lot more sophisticated and more polished than a lot of my previous work. It is clothes for the modern woman. I aimed for simple, clean silhouettes. I looked up to icons like Catherine Deneuve for inspiration."

Indeed the versatile, earthy and age-blind essence of Rachel's clothes is a fresh new approach to moda. Her convertible skirts that double for mini dresses, off the shoulder tops which can be transformed into hooded t-shirts and many other interchangeable pieces embody an incontrovertible spirit of liberation. Whether you are a curvaceous woman or a young willowy teenager Ms. Pally's fluid, layered clothes have something to offer you.
