Cacharel Gets Tripped In Time
By Timothy Hagy

The Cacharel show started with a 50s retro-style tweeds, applied mercilessly to plaid ensembles, then in a heartbeat skipped to post-modern abstract designs, constructed of primary colors, painted on to skirts and dresses. Add oodles of prints, a cocktail dress with a bustier tied in red velvet bows, skirt fluttering with metallic triangles, and Sonia Rykiel style stripe skirts worn with black leggings, and you have a jigsaw puzzle that never quite came together.

True, the design team Clements and Ribeiro sent out some fine pieces, but overall, the show was most memorable for being long and repetitive.
