Versace woman-- the spawn of glamour's royal marriage to ostentation-- is on the prowl once again. As usual, she is bold, flashy and fabulous, without any regrets.
The fall wardrobe Donatella created for unabashedly sexy and irresistibly confident femmes everywhere is a parade of color and print. Bright red and yellow reinterpretations of the classic skirt suit (lined with leopard), enormous fur coats in brilliant hues, tantalizingly playful mini pleated skirts and derrière hugging low cut pants embrace the trend of eclecticism that is ubiquitous, but does so with a very Versace twist. Even the more "conservative" Versace pieces, such as the pencil skirts or the cashmere cardigans are designed to celebrate the female body in all its glory. Each ensemble is cut and constructed to glide around the body, using fabrics that titillate the senses. This season Donatella is flexing her creative muscles by emphasizing strong, daring, and distinctive daywear. Her new creations beg the answer to the question, "Who needs an excuse to dress up?"
Versace is legendary for stunningly sensational evening wear. Hence it is no surprise that Donatella's skin tight black numbers discrete with slashed out panels, deep slits and plenty of cleavage are conceived to turn heads. These evening gowns, reminiscent of Gianni's slithering chain-mail stunners are chick, sleek and undeniably striking. Fashionlines recommends the gorgeous black dress (held together buckles running down the torso) Fernanada Tavares wore to achieve Hollywood style red carpet splendor.
