Miuccia Prada is the maestro of transforming minimalism into graceful élan. In the throes of her vision, the Prada woman shapes up as a self confident, elegant intellectual with a razor sharp sense of style. Femme Prada has no need for form fitting pants, plunging necklines and ultra minis that make fetishes of the female form, for the ultimate luxury is not having to impress anyone. She is perfectly happy in her luxurious cashmere cardigans, beautiful sweeping wool coats and knee length puffy skirts that reflect a passion for vintage nostalgia zesty with a slightly modern twist.
For Fall 2004 Miuccia's siren with brains reemerged with a new wardrobe-- romantic in essence, but contemporary in functionality and construction. Rehashing themes from her Spring collection the designer brought back a sinuous silhouette, slimmed down above the waist by self fabric belts and ribbons. While abandoning the Mediterranean scenery motifs, Miuccia revisited pattern with innovative computer generated prints. Trench coats, scallop skirts and fitted dresses depicting these inventive embosses were refined amalgamations of classic style and futuristic premise. While staying on the cutting edge and incorporating fresh concepts into her collection, Miuccia did not neglect to pay homage to the Prada legacy. Cable knit sweaters, fitted two pieces, tweeds, streamlined jackets, circle skirts and trousers remained as staples of blasé Italian chic. This season Fashionlines' Prada favorites are fifties inspired dresses encrusted with intricate patterns of glittering jewels.
