With Miuccia Prada's lead, vintage inspired eclectic style has been spreading across catwalks like wildfire. For Fall 2004 even the reigning king of fashion, Karl Lagerfeld, could not stay completely immune to the appeal of lady like, intellectual clothes ala Jackie O-- laced with classic glamour and nonchalant sensuality. However, instead of simply emulating clichés, Karl Lagerfeld fused the "has been" and the "will be" of design; inventing futuristic-retro. Crossing Fendi's Fall 2003 look, characterized by sci-fi leather pieces in electric colors with traditional sensibility, Lagerfeld created a hybrid collection, combining prim pencil skirts, elegant blouses and delicately embroidered tops with massive furs, shinny leathers and metal accessories. The results were inventive, bold and new alternatives for strong, self-assured women. For a unique look Fashionlines recommends the "enormously" luxurious knit-fur coats. They are exaggerated, voluminous and simply divine. Finally, there are the shoes and bags-madly intoxicating, utterly splendid. Forewarning: This fall no fashionista shall be complete without a pair of a wedge heels.
