A Thousand and One Nights...
Written by Christine Suppes, Photography courtesy of Franck Sorbier

PARIS, July 7 - Mr. Sorbier showed his ethereal and spiritual collection in rooms, the Murier Cloister, that he seemingly had toned his collection to match. His models walked slowly and solemnly around the perimeters of this beautiful space in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, mostly in sepia, beige, brown and rust gowns and pajama ensembles that conjured a land familiar but perhaps not.

A beige lace column gown was stunning. The pajamas and jackets looked very modern yet very decorous. A languid attitude prevailed. We had escaped the rat race for a moment, yet the feeling was global, A Thousand and One Nights, Shalimar or the Taj Mahal. It is lovely to be lulled into such peacefulness, with such exquisite clothes.
