THE GIRLS OF SUMMER

While the peloton of the Tour de France wound up the Col de Castelbajac in the Pyrenees last July, the local landlord was hard at work designing a summer sports collection to be shown in Paris.
Down a green turf runway the models marched to a rocking soundtrack. A florescent safari jacket, an electric bright windbreaker plastered with a motorcycle cut out, swimsuits in primary colors, and a comical take on baseball uniforms were among the options the Castelbajac girl can chose for summer 2004.
As usual, apron-like tops spelled out any number of messages: "Made in Love," "Made in Kalifornia," "Made in shopping, people, and fun."
