Nobody glams and luxes up sportswear 'basics' quite like Michael Kors, and his men's and women's Spring 2004 collection was all about 'La Dolce Vita'- more precisely, it was a love letter to the famed Isle of Capri - as he proclaimed, "It's heaven". Even his accompanying soundtrack ("Heaven") hit home the point. This was all about feel good, optimistic, happy, 'jet set' inspired sportswear- Michael's always fabulous oversized beach totes and travel bags were carried throughout, colors were mainly bright citrus tones, chic neutrals, and shades of blue, and white; he used fresh nautical stripes abundantly; cashmere, shearling, and fur coexisted with linen, cotton canvas, and silk georgette; and the models oozed healthy sex appeal thanks to long flowing out of control ponytails that were affixed to their own hair (just the gals of course), as well as piled on gold jewelry (gold zippers even adorned his perfectly fitting jeans).
