THIS MONTH:
PARIS Spring 2004

Mr. Sorbier took us on a journey to the Middle East, created by incense, Persian carpets and two musicians, who played the haunting music we heard while we saw the collection. The theme of the reversible coat or jacket is irresistible, and was Mr. Sorbier's inspiration. With jackets and coats this intricate and beautiful, one would be hard pressed to know which side to wear out. I think too, that it would be difficult to make a choice. All were truly unique and truly beautiful. Mr. Sorbier gave us an idea for living, an idea of grace, calm, modesty and serenity with his collection, and it refreshed and soothed the audience. The show was dedicated to Madame Marie-Laure de Villepin, wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, himself a Middle Eastern aficionado.
