Hollywood A List Parties

One can always count on Oscar to help make women look and feel beautiful, and his deliciously pretty, soft, and very colorful Palm Beach inspired collection for spring/summer was 'signature' Oscar. One of the many designers to endorse yellow, his first style out was a variation on his new shape- a very fitted through the bodice, above the knee full skirted dress belted with a thin 'bow' belt'- which was translated throughout in a variety of colors and patterns. This really set the tone. Speaking of yellow, one of the best items in the show was his yellow alligator boxy jacket with a yellow and white striped cashmere sweater and white cotton skirt.

Oscar made a case for the soft cashmere twin set, which was shown with embroidered skirts and clutch bags (very 'Anna Wintour'), and he also used upbeat 'Lilly' inspired prints throughout. One of the prettiest ideas was his white eyelet embroidered silk coat worn with white tulle blouse and white tulle pleated skirt- a true spring confection if ever there was one. For evening, he went heavily into lace, taffeta and ruffled and embroidered chiffon, and sent out a very Audrey Hepburn- like group of little black dresses with full skirts. But he didn't abandon pretty color- as in his pale peach, melon, and aqua strapless versions that ended the show.
