Hollywood A List Parties

Like almost every other designer this season, 22 year Zac Posen admitted to having been inspired by a body of water- in his case, it was the Sargasso Sea. Posen continues to show his grown up sophistication, consistency and ability to cut, with a collection that relied heavily on dresses (though there were some separates for day) which were executed primarily in a pretty palette of pink, peach, plum, and light gray.

Even though the clothes exude sex appeal (Zac always loves to show legs, bare backs, and has a fondness for décolleté) they remain elegant- never vulgar. He goes from knee length cocktail dresses (I loved the pink and gold sequined short cowl neck dress) to graceful floor length evening gowns. Among the standouts were the show stopping long torso fitting red chiffon slipdress, a sea foam green satin long bias cut halter dress, and an ombre beige, mauve, and lavender strapless chiffon confection that resembled a Venetian lampshade on the bottom. And the ecru shirred corseted halter with long shredded tulle floor length gown would make a great Red Carpet gown for a fashion savvy star with madcap style (like Debra Messing or Sarah Jessica Parker).
