Hollywood A List Parties

Carolina was admittedly inspired by an exhibit of photographs taken by famed French photographer, Lartigue, which captured the effortlessly chic style of women vacationing on the French Riviera in the 1930's. The collection, which is graphic and linear, featured styles that were formfitting but still had movement, and Carolina singled out her "new technique" whereby she can make loose pleats by not sewing them together. This was illustrated by her group of long chiffon pleated gowns, some with cross cross backs.

Among the high points on the runway were perfectly tailored and jaunty pale pinstripe pantsuits with shrunken contrast trim jackets; racer back tanks shown with 'effortlessly chic' crisp cotton button front skirts- both long and short (some with large utilitarian pockets on the belt); a short yellow strapless sequined dress molded through the torso ending in a flared hem; a group in hand-painted abstract black and white stripes, which included an organza ball skirt with black knit camisole; the red crocodile beaded halter with long red and white printed chiffon skirt; and Jacquetta Wheeler's asymmetrical red and white chiffon beaded gown. Bold chunky jewelry- such as the piled on ebony bracelets, and sexy high- heeled Manolos accented the collections.
