MERCEDES-BENZ SHOWS LA
TWELFTH STREET BY CYNTHIA VINCENT

Cynthia Vincent’s Spring 2004 Collection “Prim and Improper” was a transparent, flowing and sparkling affair. Exploring panache, chic, fun and casually street-modish themes that are distinctly Los Angeles, Vincent created a collection honoring Twelfth Street, the street she grew up on. The designer’s supple butterfly sleeve tops, see through metallic tunics embellished with floral embroideries, lithe silk knotted dresses in vivacious, effervescent colors such as melon, lemon and aqua and sparkle chiffon pants were flirty, elegant and modern. Vincent’s blue polka dot sparkle top matched with a light blue pencil skirt. A windbreaker bomber worn over a salmon silk chiffon top and white gathered pocket pants and a green “Go-Getter” dress tied around the neck brimmed with a relaxed yet refined flair just right for the Golden State. And let’s not forget the designer’s humorous tribute to the lighthearted but tasteful Californian style that came in the form of a purple velvet knee-length dress with fluid skirts and an imprint on the left buttock which read “Thou shalt not Whine.”
