JEREMY SCOTT - SEXYBITION
Without a doubt Jeremy Scott's 2004 Spring "Collection" is all part of what must have inspired Karl Lagerfeld to lament "Poor Jeremy. His problem is that he can't cut a dress." The designer who has on more than one occasion expressed a desire to make the leap into the film industry conceived ensembles that looked as if they belonged in the costume wardrobe of a marginal theatrical performance group. Opting to bypass the runway altogether, Jeremy Scott reprised his highly elaborate and bold New York peepshow defying age old taboos such as religion and sex.
Nikki and Paris Hilton clad in little farm girl outfits complete with sheep pelt accessories, sporting a herding staff, posed to an on looking crowd in front of a wall decorated with miniature cartoons of naked men sodomizing farm animals. Another model clothed in a risqué black leather lace-up corset, sheer purple blouse and red patent leather stilettos proclaimed "I will not fuck in class." Similar outfits that were undoubtedly conceived to put on a shocking spectacle fell desperately short of respecting the beauty and art of fashion.
