MERCEDES-BENZ SHOWS LA
MICHELLE MASON & MASON

For Spring 2004 Michelle Mason showcased two extensively rich, intensely lush collections for her secondary (Mason) and her primary (Michelle Mason) lines. Opening strong with a gold satin jacket and khaki hot pants gathered at the sides, Mason heralded the arrival of her new look; militarily masculine in color and concept yet seductively feminine in cut, construction and sensibility. Anchoring her creations for Mason to a camouflage color palette (enriched with a dash of blue, ivory and mauve) the designer sent out a series of no-nonsense jersey cargo sweat pants, shiny tanks, satin blazers and halter dresses. Rich with intricate details and rampantly self confident themes the first part of the show was bold and sharp.

Michelle Mason's look for the spring on the other hand explored uncharted seduction's uncharted territory with electrifying colors (fire red, tropical jungle green and deep azure blue) razor sharp cut (accentuating the glory of the female body) and lissome fabrics. Among Fashionlines' favorite looks by Michelle Mason were a flowingly supple green jersey dress with cascading ruffles, a bias-cut chiffon gown with ties and a white silk blouse, vest, jacket and cuffed trouser ensemble. One word of advice; if you want to etch your look into peoples' minds go Masonic.
