MERCEDES-BENZ SHOWS LA
EDUARDO LUCERO

For Spring 2004 Eduardo Lucero went all out. In Lucero's hands extravagant fabrics, a razor sharp cut, intricate embroideries, floral prints and bold colors culminated in a sea of excess. Overall Lucero's work lacked focus. Fashionlines believes that while trying to push the boundaries of feminine seduction, the designer compromised elegance. A green see through dress (V neck and billowing chiffon layered skirts) was worn with a pair of pink undines and matching dress shirt, creating the kind of stylistic chaos that requires a double take. Even though towards the end a metallic silk sinuous dress and mini jacket ensemble reflected refinement and delicate taste, it did not suffice to redeem the collection.
