He’s back! The invitation, which was a passport, said it all. The ever global Adrover, who had the unfortunate timing of showing a Middle Eastern themed collection (complete with bhurkas) just a few days prior to 9/ll, is still enchanted by all things global, but nothing was inappropriate or offensive.
This collection was dedicated to ‘citizens of the world’, and his runway served as a ‘highway of the world’. It was filled with hip hop street boys, Nascar racers, androgynous couples clad in his always impeccable and severely cut pantsuits, and full Spanish circle skirts. There was even an homage to New York achieved through his art deco silver beaded evening dresses that seemed to honor the city’s skyscrapers.
