Like Oscar, Carolina always thrills her well-heeled, well-traveled, elegant and rich customer with clothes that often reference the exotic and wordly.

For this collection, which was saturated with color, paisleys, and butterflies (which she said “symbolize freedom”) Carolina admitted to having been inspired by “exotic countries and the military.” Flesh colored leather formed the basis for suits (I especially liked the skirt suit with a jacket that had pockets outlined in chocolate brown), and I loved the way she mixed the exotic with elements of both work wear and ladylike, as seen in the jumpsuits and mechanic suits that were shown for day and night, the use of d- rings and drawstring waists (such as the orange suede drawstring waist jogging pant shown with a gold sequined camisole).
She paired sturdy khaki safari jackets with delicate silk chiffon paisley pieces, endorsed the bomber jacket and the halter top (like just about everyone else this season), and showed several takes on the shirtdress- one of the best was her parrot green charmeuse elongated short sleeved satin shirt dress.

And as usual, her blouses (especially those done with billowy poet’s sleeves) are beautiful and collector’s items- whether translated in beaded paisley chiffon, sheer organza (I loved the pale lavender low rise ballgown skirt with see thru bark organza short sleeved shirt), or crisp white cotton (like the white off the shoulder blouse worn with skinny white pants on Carmen Kass).
