It's for real---Yves Saint Laurent is no longer showing clothes. And like the father who dies and frees up his children to be who they more "really are", Lagerfeld became more German, Gaultier became more erotic, Galliano became more, well, Galliano, Lacroix became more theatrical. We saw Oscar de la Renta's last show for Balmain, and a lot of new talent. It was a surprisingly strong season, given the market verities and the retirement of Saint Laurent. Fashionlines particularly believes in the young talent from all over the world that is now in Paris.
