Black-red, floral-asymmetrical, East-West, origami-cutting edge—it seemed Ji Haye, the wonderfully talented Korean born designer was looking for juxtaposition this season. A gray pantsuit with an Asian style jacket closure mixed nicely with floral gowns, an ostrich leather suit and a three -quarter coat of brown and white fur stripes over white silk pajamas. It’s the new Couture—daring, international and witty. Think Anna May Wong and Marlene Dietrich in The Shanghai Express. It’s about time someone brought this sophisticated, worldly yet fresh sensibility to Couture!
