Vera has long been a Hollywood favorite, and in fact, Oprah Winfrey and Holly Hunter, were both front row and center at her show this season. Known for her bridal dresses, and evening clothes favored by the rich and famous, she has often gone along the lines of minimalism- like she did last season.

Well, not this time- she achieved wonderful results through her beautiful cuts, delicate beading, a neutral palette of mainly white, ivory, taupe, black, and some hits of strong color (red, lilac). It all had the look of lingerie- with soft and feminine

detailing and fabrics like silk jersey, chiffon and tulle. Vera created beautifully plunging halter necklines and backs, added little ribbon shrugs to short dresses, and paired simple knits with more intricate pieces (I loved her whimsical short ivory tulle fantasy skirt shown with simple black sweater).

And her knitwear- some of which seemed to have been spun from the most delicate spider webs- were a wonderful surprise- especially when paired with bias cut skirts in shiny satin.
