For ‘Mr. Clean’ this season, it’s “all about satin, color, cream and white”. Indeed, though the color palette was predominantly white, ivory, pale and neutral, he did use a touch of a nude pink, flesh tones, and teal. And black was used for maximum impact to fashion a fabulous fencing jacket and ‘wear forever’ trenchcoat.

Interesting fabric mixes (viscose, silk charmeuse, linen, glove linen, sheer chiffon) created the high contrast that gave his collection (and many others) its interest and punch.

Charmeuse for day really came alive when it was paired with unexpected, sturdier fabrics- as in his bias cut satin slipdress worn with suede coat, his teal green leather motorcross jacket (the bomber/motorcross jacket is the jacket of the season) paired with bias cut gray satin knee length skirt, or his brushed denim asymmetrical jacket given the same graceful underpinning.

It seems obvious that his wife/best friend Kelly is still his muse- one can easily imagine her wearing everything, especially the low slung skirts and pants, satin baseball jackets, and the dusty rose slip dress with tailored jacket.

The feeling of sportswear was offset by his sexy, lingerie touches- bras and corsets were often paired with tailored menswear trousers, and pintucking kept his white shirts and shirtdresses from being too plain and simple. Speaking of pintucks, he ended the show with a group of graceful pastel dresses with pintucks and ruching, and two white goddess gowns with discreet ruffles.
